Nappies leaking at night

Hi, hoping someone can help!

My DS (2.1) has suddenly started wetting through his nappies at night, waking up soaked. I use pampers baby dry nappy pants and he's been in a 6 for about 3/4 months with no issue. Can't imagine he needs a 7 as he's only 12.6kg. By weight should be in a 5 but they don't cover his bum properly and cut into his legs and tummy. He sleeps on his tummy too which probably doesn't help.

Does anyone have any ideas/recommendations? Early mornings and extra laundry are driving me mad 😂

Have you tried the pampers night time nappy pants?
My Dd uses them and we've had no leaks since we started.
During the day we use the normal pampers nappy pants

My same age boy is in size 7 baby dry pampers nappies at night as he leaks in the size 6 he wears in the day; like yours he’s not the right weight for them but I was always told that if nappies are leaking go a size up

Pampers baby dry were absolutely useless for DS. I used to use the premium protection ones and they were amazing but have been discontinued in larger sizes. I use Huggies night training pull ups now and DS only leaks every now and again

Night time pull ups are good as they’re designed to deal with an overnight toddler flood.

Also what is he drinking before bed? If he’s still guzzling milk before bed you then you could look at stopping that.

I could have written your post OP, this morning was the worst yet. Thinking about it, the same thing happened with my older DS and I had to use Pampers at night with a onesie as his pj trousers were cutting into the top of the nappy.

Thank you for your replies everyone.

@MsSquiz I did have a look at the nighttime pants but was a bit 😳 when I saw the price 😂 £11.50 for 31 in boots. Worth it if they work though

@Bdhntbis oh okay, it might be worth trying the 7s for nighttime then. I'll give it a go, thank you

@RandomQuest he has a cup of milk about an hour and a half before bed, nothing after that. Reluctant to stop the milk (oat milk) if I can avoid it as it's his main source of calcium (CMPA)

Try putting 2 nappies on for bed worked for mine x

CoffeeMonkey · 24/02/2022 15:51

We’ve been using Pampers Nappy Pants (either Baby Dry or Active Fit seem to be ok) but doubling them up, a size 4 & then a size 5 on top but back to front.

Our little boy is 9 months & also sleeps on his tummy a lot of the time, we still get the occasional leak but this seems to help for the most part

Size up
Go for the + range of nappy size
Make sure clothes are not too tight
Try dream changes if you can

MsSquiz · 24/02/2022 17:23

@HalfBloodPrince they are expensive (£9 in Tesco for 31) but you only use 1 a night and since they've worked for us, I've sucked it up for the amount of time and energy it saves me doing extra laundry Grin

Inthesky42 · 24/02/2022 19:24

Try using a taped nappy instead of the nappy pants. They most certainly hold more wee!

HalfBloodPrince · 24/02/2022 19:47

@MsSquiz that's true, I didn't think of it like that! Will definitely be worth it to save on laundry 😁 got a small pack of 7s earlier to try but if no luck will definitely get the night time ones! Thank you
