I feel so guilty if I don't entertain her constantly, does she need it at 4 months, if so how. She prefers to be spoken
To whenever possible and is very vocal xx

A baby class or two?

You don’t need to entertain constantly though-really. Would she be happy with rolling around on a playmat with some rattles or fabric book for a bit? A long walk? A chat as you go round the shops? Looking out the window on the bus? All things I do with my sociable similar aged baby

Reframe it. Don’t entertain her as such. Do what you want/need to do with her in tow and narrate it, especially if she loves being spoken to. If she likes the sling, pop her in that and head out the house for a coffee and talk talk talk. I started going to baby groups a couple of times a week at roughly 5 ish months and that was enough ‘entertainment’ really!

It depends if she wants entertaining really. DD1 required a full on CBeebies presenter routine, lots of walks and changes of scene to keep her entertained right up until she could walk. Otherwise she would just protest loudly allllllll day. She’s still quite high maintenance now at 3yo.

DD2 is 6.5mo and much more chilled. Will happily come from room to room with me, sitting and playing with stuff while I do jobs and chat with her. Loves watching her sister play when she’s not at preschool.

Do what suits your baby - they let you know fairly swiftly if you’re not meeting their standards!
