Best car seat when you don't own a car?

We are currently using a Maxi Cosi Cabriofix for our 10.5 month old but she's going to outgrow it soon. We don't have a car, so we only use it with the seatbelt attachment in taxis, Ubers, or rentals. Looking at bigger car seats, the majority require isofix, which won't work for us not having a car of our own. Desperate for any suggestions anyone may have! Thanks in advance.

Joie Tilt maybe? Rearfacing until age 4 if you like.

Should add can be forward facing from 18 months or thereabouts but Rearfacing recommended until 15 months and better until at least age 2 or 3.

I have a joie stages which is extended rear facing up to 18kg (4years roughly), is light to manoeuvre and I can fit it in a car in under a minute. I’d definitely recommend it. It was also under £100

Hmm maybe not under a minute actually, but definitely less than 3 I’d say!

We have a Joie everystage, fastens with a seatbelt, rear and forward facing and easy to take in and out of cars

Same here, and We have a Cosatto Zoomi for DD2.

It will get eye rolls on here because it’s forward facing. But we need to take it on public transport regularly, and need one we can easily carry along with all the other toddler crap. I couldn’t find a rear facing one that wasn’t heavy and bulky.

It’s been really good for us.

You’re not going to get an easily portable seat again until DC reaches the age to use a booster cushion sadly. But Joie every stage is a seatbelt install, my mum has one for my kids and we’re happy with it. Do you have black cabs where you are? We’re in London and I just use proper taxis instead of Uber so I can push the stroller straight into the back and apply the break like you would on the bus.

Thanks all. Very helpful. @RandomQuest not in London- we are in Sheffield.
