Worried I’ll be lonely

Hi all, I posted recently about a move from city to country and I can’t find the thread to reply now!

I’m feeling major wobbles about relocating from city we’ve always lived in to semi-rural place.
As soon as we packed up to leave the city I realised that my friends are all here, my work opportunities are here, the places we know and love are here. I can’t remember why I wanted to change it?? Something about fresh air and more space?

I don’t know anyone in new place altho have a couple of connections, have found a place to volunteer and have family nearby.
We have a little girl aged 5, she will be in a new nursery.
Everything is new. I saw it as an opportunity but now I just want to go back and stay put where life is simple and there aren’t miles between us and the things we have filled our lives with so far. My friends are so close by in London.
Has anyone any words of wisdom?
No-one knows what will happen I know. I suddenly really miss our city life even tho when we were there it felt stressful and grey.

Remember the stress of the city and why you left and think now, when you go back to see friends/days out etc, you can enjoy it and savour it more without the stress of it being constant.

Volunteering will be a great way to meet people and I'm sure you will get to know people through nursery and school etc.

We have just moved into the country from a smaller city and it is an adjustment but I just love walking around the village and it being quiet, and people say hello. The commute is harder but we have more space and I can sit peacefully in the garden without everyone around us blasting music - heaven!
