Isolating a 4 year old from sibling

DD2 is 4 and has Covid. Complained of feeling unwell yesterday, so I used a lateral flow and it was as positive as positive gets. Hopefully, she’ll be out of isolation on Monday morning in time for school to start again.

I’m triple vaccinated, but fully prepared that I have a good chance of getting it myself. DH has a slightly better chance of avoiding it as he goes out to work (can’t wfh) and I’m doing the caring for DD2.

I would really like to avoid DD1 (6) getting it. She had it in early December, so almost certainly Delta. Isolation was 10 days then and missing so much school has really dented her maths confidence. We’ve built it up again a bit, but it’s taken so much time and effort that I’m exhausted!

I know it’s possibly too late, and a chain reaction via me/DH might make an infection for DD1 inevitable, but we did keep it away from DD2 in December by separating the girls once we knew DD1 had it. DH and I didn’t get it either. So we’re doing the same this time. Only it’s more difficult as both are at home with me due to half term. DD1 kept going to school last time (after a PCR) so less entertaining to do.

Ideas for entertaining 2 children, in isolation, by myself for the next 2.5 days please?!

Don't bother

I mean DD2 kept going to school last time, when DD1 had it. Argh!

@Perfect28

Don't bother
Not an option I’m willing to consider.

As I said, I know it might be pointless, but it did work out for us previously. And I’ll do anything to reduce the chance of DD1 getting into the pit of despair we’ve almost pulled her out of.

I have to say I agree with @Perfect28. Our DD had it recently, although not unwell luckily. I was worried DS would get it as they continued to play together etc. and I was sure he would be the one out of all of us to catch it but he didn't. In fact none of us caught it.

I can't be sure what variant she had as she was completely well the entire time, but I assume Omicron.

Hopefully you all stay healthy Smile
