Leaking poop around the legs

SleeplessK · 15/02/2022 03:45

My LB is 6 weeks old. He’s long and skinny and only 7lb15oz. We have been using pampers but almost every time he poops it leaks down his legs. Frills are out and I can’t get them much snugger. Any suggestions for a brand that may fit a skinny long boy better?

You could try a motherease washable nappy wrap over the top of the nappy. These are really good and prevent leaks.

Aldi have been great for my slim 7 week old

Shmithecat2 · 15/02/2022 04:25

What size are you using? And what variant - Premium, Baby Dry etc?

I used Aldi at that age and then Tesco at size 3. Both v good imo. They get through so many you might as well only pay a couple of quid instead of pampers prices.

Probably not the answer you want but I’ve always found reusable much better at containing poop.

Omg the motherease stay dry nappy is my favourite thing in the entire world and I wish I’d gone down the reusable route sooner. For disposables I switched between Lidl and Pampers because the sizing was slightly different for each and we just switched as needed. But you could totally use just a wrap over the top to keep in leaks: “mother ease reiki” or similar.

Size 1 and they seem big I’ve tried both premium and baby dry.

I’ve suggested reusable several times but my other half refuses. He avoids nappy changes already so don’t want to give him another reason not to.

Rascal from Tesco or Aldi premium

girlmom21 · 15/02/2022 08:44

Get a pack of Aldi nappies. They're about 90p at that size so not a waste if they're no good. Lidl are similar prices and both are good nappies.

mummyh2016 · 15/02/2022 08:45

I'd recommend trying a different brand of nappies, I'm using Aldi and have had no leaks yet (touch wood) with my 4 week old. They sound like they have the same body shape, he only weighs just over 8lb but is about to go into 0-3 month clothing due to his length.

anonymouse · 15/02/2022 08:53

Both my boys were small & skinny at that age. The best nappies at that were asda little angels. They're narrower than all others so fit skinny waist and thighs perfectly. Bonus is that they're cheap too!

Danikm151 · 15/02/2022 08:54

Asda newborn nappies come up smaller than pampers.

Grinnypiggy · 15/02/2022 08:55

Aldi premium great for our long skinny baby.

Asda nappies are the only ones that gave my DD a horrible rash
BertieBotts · 15/02/2022 09:05

Try size 0/NB.

Some babies are just leaky though. Sunlight gets baby poo stains out.

FreedomforWA · 15/02/2022 09:06

Rascal and Friends....Aussie brand that I think they now sell in Tesco. They've been great for my two.

BeastOfBODMAS · 15/02/2022 09:10

I didn’t rate Lidl for my long skinny baby, they seemed short and wide.

Boots or Tesco were best for us. The normal/cheaper ones. The Tesco ones have an elasticy bit across the back waistband which help stop the poo going up the back

SleeplessK · 15/02/2022 10:04

I will give Aldi a go. If they fail there are other options recommended. Thanks all.

@SleeplessK pampers are rubbish, I used them with my first child and they constantly leaked, swapped brands and never went back. Supermarket own brand like Tesco and Lidl do a much better job

lady725516 · 15/02/2022 10:41

Another vote for Aldi or Tesco
