Taking baby to hair appointment

Hi there!
I haven't reached out to my hairdresser yet and I will-but I'm wondering about others opinions on the topic first.

Soon I'll have my first hair appointment since having my baby - it's been a while and I'm keen to sort out the mess 😆. I'm getting colour and cut so I know it'll be a few hours.

My little boy is 3.5months, ebf on demand and I'm feeling a little anxious about the appointment as I'm worried about leaving him at home for that long, but I'm also anxious about bringing him to the salon and making things difficult for the hairdresser or other clients.
He's actually a very relaxed and chilled bubba but I still worry about it.

I'd like to hear if people think it's appropriate to bring your little baby along or is it impolite? If any hairdressers in particular can share their thoughts I'd appreciate it

Thankyou! Smile-

Will he take a bottle if you express. If not you’re definitely going to have to take him.

Could your DH come and look after him somewhere nearby and bring him to you as needed?

It’s not impolite as such, needs must but it will be noisy and you won’t be able to look after him as well as usual if you’re covered in hair dye, getting your hair cut, blow dried etc

You can’t take a baby to a hairdressers, whether they are EBF or not. Either find a hairdresser that will come to your house, leave the baby at home or wait a bit longer.

Thanks for the tip! I was thinking my dh could do this! He won't take a bottle yet so that might be an option.

Agreed, I was thinking even if he's usually quite settled it will be different in a place like that!

When I had my hair done when mine was tiny I got my husband to bring her for a feed while I was waiting for my foils to work (so it didn’t disturb the hair dresser)

That's a good idea! I think that will work for me too, I might just touch base with the hairdresser wmd let her know i may need to do this ☺️

My hairdresser was great when I phoned to ask about this. We scheduled it at a quieter time so that other customers wouldn't complain about a baby (potentially crying) whilst having very expensive cuts and treatments etc. She had a private room if I wanted to use it for feeds and nappy changes. She also wore a mask for me.

That's amazing! Definitely sounds like it can be done. I'll ask the question and see ☺️

Update for anyone who's interested for might be wondering the same thing

Contacted my hairdresser and she was delighted at the idea of bringing my baby along! (Yay!)
She said there's private rooms I can use if I need and they all can't wait to meet my Bub
Phew!
Thanks everyone Smile
