DS is so lovely

I was thinking today how lucky I am (and it is luck, it is nothing I have done) - DS (14 months) is such a good-natured, sweet, happy little boy.

We all love our children but I thought I’d start a thread and invite everyone to share what they really LIKE about their child(ren)? Smile

I agree, my dc are just the loveliest. They’re kind, funny, clever, sweet and give the best kisses and cuddles.

This is so nice, OP! I have a 2yo DS and he’s lovely too. So funny, makes up little stories, shares his toys with our cats (who don’t want to play of course, but it's very cute) and just chatters away all day long. I’m still waiting for the terrible twos to kick in so I’m relishing this little charming human while he lasts 😆

This is a nice idea!

My 21 month old DD is hilarious, she makes me laugh so much and she’s getting really loving. She gives me kisses all day and the best hugs (previously not very cuddly so enjoying it while I can!)

I love how my autistic 6 year old adopts the characteristics of her favourite character in her latest favourite film. This goes on for weeks and then she’ll find a new favourite film. She knows she does it and thoroughly enjoys it; she’ll say she’s still enjoying being X so doesn’t want to watch a different film at the moment. It’s Nanny McPhee currently, due to her having a very wobbly front tooth. She’s got the “Hmm”, “I did knock” and “Please Mr Brown, return to your newspaper “ down to a T and these little sayings crop up over breakfast, in the car…wherever…she warms my heart.

Nice idea for a thread, OP.

My two are really loving towards one another. When one of them is upset, the other pats them on the head. I get lovely cuddles and kisses from them both. I'm so proud of them when we see other people because generally so they're so pleasant to be around. It's lovely to see them take steps out into the world.

Cute thread....I have teenagers so I'm saying nothing!

confettiballoons · 06/02/2022 22:53

I didn’t realise till I had kids, how much fun they are. Like literally they are my favourite humans to hang about with. I’ve got four and they’re all so different, and all so wonderful.

Dd 13 is brilliantly funny. In a turn of events, I now crave her company! Just can't be with her enough.

deathofastrawberry · 06/02/2022 22:55

DS is 7.5 months and he's really starting to develop his own little personality. We went through a few difficult stages (like most!) during the first 5 months but it feels like we've come out the other side now and he's become such a happy smiley little boy! He's absolutely adorable and I love seeing him laugh and watch his fascination as he discovers new things. One thing that is sure to always make him giggle is watching our Labrador jump for treats! I feel like we're becoming friends now as well as being mother and son 🥺

Lovely thread btw ❤️

Today my 3 & 5 year olds joined both hands and spun around in circles giggling and shouting "I love you" to each other. They didn't realise I was watching. It was so cute I nearly cried.

My 15 and 17 year old both gave me big hugs today, all is not lost!
Kite22 · 06/02/2022 23:23

Mine are all young adults now, and it strikes me how kind they are. It is just automatic that they do "the little things" to help people out ......dive in to pick something up that someone has dropped / help someone with a pushchair negotiate stairs / automatically stack chairs or tidy up after a meeting / put the kettle on if someone comes to the house / offer someone a lift when they have a car / etc etc etc

Things I think are 'normal' but don't seem to be across the whole of MN.

Chichimcgee · 06/02/2022 23:23

My 12 year old is severely autistic.

He makes me so proud every day. He’s so funny and cheeky. He’s really kind and caring and will rescue anything and everything he can, including ants/bugs/snails so they don’t get trodden on and broken toys because they deserve to be loved as well. Puts all litter he finds into a bin etc

He has severe, extreme anxiety and the social issues with his autism. A couple of weeks ago he spoke to my midwife about the abuse my partner was doing to him and me. It must have been so traumatising for him and so scary. When asked why he’s never said anything before he said he needs to protect his little sister who I’m heavily pregnant with. He’s my brave hero.

TheWomanTheyCallJayne · 06/02/2022 23:33

Mine are teenagers. Very proud of them all. Caring, witty, hardworking, don’t give me much grief. I like being around them.

bloodywhitecat · 06/02/2022 23:40

Mine are 29 and 31 now but they are both dropping everything when I need help at the moment as I nurse my DH (I am remarried so he's not their dad) through cancer. I couldn't get through this without them, DD is even pushing her fear of vomit (DH is at that stage now where it is starting to become a regular thing) to one side in order to be here at weekends. DS has driven over 150 miles to help me rearrange the house so we could get DH's hospital bed and equipment set up.

@PatriciaHolm oh mine are amazing kids too just their problems are bigger! I just thought it was cute that everyone who had posted had small kids and I was jealous not to have that cuteness any more.

InnPain · 07/02/2022 09:30

I have more than one child and each child has their own unique qualities that stand out.

Eldest is very funny, makes me laugh with her witty comments.

Middle one is very caring and nurturing, full of hugs and kisses. She even hugs and kisses the hoover 🤣

Youngest just melts my heart with her smile, she’s still a baby.

deathofastrawberry · 07/02/2022 09:54

@bloodywhitecat that's so lovely how supportive your children are. Wishing you and your family all the best ❤️
