Child lock on oven door

Just wondering whether people think this is necessary/worth paying for?

We are getting a new range cooker, and because of various constraints have 2 options: a Belling one with no child lock on the oven door or a Smeg that does have a child lock plus totally heat proof glass, but is £700 more expensive Shock

Toddler is 18 months and is a typical, active, inquisitive toddler who doesn't always understand boundaries Hmm I'd rather not shut her out of the kitchen whenever we're cooking and the shape of the room doesn't really allow for partitioning it.

Any thoughts?

Could you put a child lock on the Belling? I have oven locks and wouldn't like not to just in case.

This one was really easy to stick on and does the job x

I didn't even know oven locks existed! I've never used one and DC have never been tempted to open the oven. DS has helpfully whacked the temperature up to 250 degrees once though! I guess if you have the option of adding one, that could be useful on a cheaper oven.

Thanks both. @SMBC2020 annoyingly the doors open sideways so I don't think those locks would work. Thanks though.q
