UK Birthday celebration - Questions

Maybe a daft question but how people do celebrate their children birthdays in the UK?

I have a 2 year old and I don't know if what most people do is to invite friends with their children at their home, for example 5 couples and 5ish children, there is a buffet with nibbles, sandwiches, snacks, drinks, the kids jump around and then say happy birthday, have the birthday cake and 2-3 hours later they go home?

Or they book places for 2-hour slots that do children parties?

Does there have to be an organised activity for the kids?

What is more common for a 2year old/preschool birthday celebration in the UK?

Honestly all/none of the above.

2 years old is perfect territory for a small celebration at home with close friends/family some cake and nibbles before the need for school friends to be invited kicks in.

But it's not unheard of for more organised parties of all varieties. We did a zoo visit for one of our girls and did the cake thing at my mother's house on the way home.

Just celebrate in the way that you'd like that fits in with what you think a brilliant day for your soon to be 2 year old would be. At age 2 there's no rule book and no one that matters will judge.

I agree.
