Drowsy after bottle

I had a CT scan today with contrast dye. I was told that it's still okay to breastfeed, but "it's up to me". I feel a bit strange about my baby getting any amount of the contrast dye so I have been pumping to make sure she has enough milk for 24 hours.
We just tried bottle feeding with the pumped milk and despite the bottle having a slow flow, she was sometimes choking on it - so I kept interrupting her , burping her often, and making sure that she was sitting in the right position. Anyway, now she's looking pretty drowsy and quiet and I'm just wondering if this is normal...? I wonder if she had a bit too much to eat? My baby is 23 days old.

If she's had a bit more milk than usual, or maybe just a bit quicker than usual, she's probably feeling a bit full and is in a bit of a milk coma! Just like you or I are Xmas dinner 😂

When you've given her the bottle was she laying flat or slightly upright? My HV always advised with bottle feeding to make sure the bottle wasn't at a complete rightable so that baby isn't guzzling it down. And you've done the right thing by giving her little breaks and burping her in between ☺️

Other than that, she sounds like she's got a full belly and fancies a kip!

Good luck with your scan btw, I hope all goes well xxxx

Thank you so much, this was very reassuring :) I kept her upright as much as possible. I definitely think she's had a bit much! What you said makes perfect sense. Thank you!

No worries at all! I'm glad it helped☺️

Also, reading back - I'm sorry for all the typos! I was feeding my very lively 10month old whose favourite pass time is knocking my phone/book!

I hope she sleeps well and good luck again xx
