Going on holiday stress

I'm going on holiday tomorrow (U.K. based) with my partner, my 1yo and my dog

I just feel stressed tbh

I've made a list of everything we need to bring with us and it's a mile long. I'm trying to get all the washing done today in between the baby napping (she still contact naps), feeding the baby, taking the dog to the vets and taking the cats and their litter tray, food to my parents.

We booked a holiday abroad for May and I feel hopeless that I can't even get myself sorted for break only a couple of hours down the road.

No point to this post just wondering if I'm just ridiculous or do other people feel like this? Like holidays aren't fun anymore?

DD has been waking frequently in the early hours for the past few nights, I think it's because she's figuring out how to walk but I just feel knackered and tearful.

Everyone feels like this the day before they go away OP! We love to travel, but without fail, the day before we leave I always find myself thinking 'Why the hell are we going away - it's so stressful and I have so much shit to do!'. But then we go away and it's great and it's all worth it.

If you're going abroad in May, a week away in the UK is a good trial run. You'll be better organised next time, or not, but somehow it all always gets done. Enjoy your break.

What is your partner organising?

What you forget at home, you can buy wherever you go - dummy, blanket, toothbrush...

Travelling with a 1yo there is almost always a mountain of stuff to bring. Your partner should be in charge of the pets and at least half the washing. Pin the list up and tell him to start doing stuff off it.

Honestly holidays with babies and young children are same shit different location. It does get better and a change of scenery is refreshing but you need your dp to pull their weight and go out for meals or get a take away.

@elQuintoConyo it's that usual thing of him being at work. Tomorrow he'll be changing the car seat over to his car and pack everything up in it. Emptying the bins, making sure the house is fairly clean, walking the dog, whilst I bath the baby, shower myself, nap the baby.
