My 14 month old is due to start at the childminder soon and we have to send them in with a lunchbox, I'm after any inspiration for a packed lunch him I'm having a total block and stressing about what to give him! He is allergic to egg but happily eats most other foods!

Thank you so much x

My childminder will warm up meals in the microwave. I struggled for meal ideas and my DC refused to eat bread/wraps. He now goes with different pasta meals, jacket potato with various toppings placed in small tupperware, masked potato... all with veggies, yoghurt, jelly, cheese, fruit.

My lunchbox formula is one carb (sandwich, wrap, bagel, pasta, rice etc.), one veg (carrot sticks, sweetcorn, tomatoes, cucumber etc), one fruit (bits of apple, melon fingers, cut up grapes), one protein (cheese, meat, yoghurt) and one treat (brownie, flapjack, biscuit, crisps etc)
Does he have to feed himself?

With lunchboxes I have a theory of a sandwich type item, yoghurt, piece of fruit/veg plus something else.
I send wraps, cracker sandwiches, sandwich thins, rolls as the sandwich item.
All types of fruit or veg.
Then as the extra either soreen loaf, sausage roll, scotch eggs, a cheese type snack,
Once a week I send a tin of something for the childminder to heat up to provide a bit of variety.
I’ve also sent little pasta salads in the past just of pasta, ham, bits of veg

Hi I am a childminder my children bring all different things ranging from last nights leftovers for me to reheat, to a sandwich, to a tin of beans and slice of bread so I can make beans on toast.
I would suggest chatting to your childminder and finding out if there are days that would be easier for her for you to send cold food (if they are at activities or out in woods etc) and days you can send something that could be heated.
My parents tend to put lots of picky bits in the lunchboxes to prevent their child getting food envy if the others lunchboxes!
