Hi, just need a bit of advise and if anyone is experiencing the same.

I'm a first time mum my Lilly boy was born June 2020 peak covid, so we isolated for quite a while.

Since winter hit he's constantly getting g viral infections, he's had bronchiolitis about 3 times always in and out of A&E.

Is seems when he gets a cold it hits him hard, specially a mucusy chest.

He's had his bloods, observations and scans and everything seems to be fine.

I just keep getting told it's one of those things a lot of kids are getting like this at this moment in time.

I just feel so sorry for him he seems constantly poorly :(

Is anyone else's little one like this at the moment?

Bronchiolitis one of the worst things a baby can get as they will suffer recurrently with it. Every three months my dd would end up in hospital on oxygen or feeding tubes. We practically lived in that hospital. We were told one of those things too. But everyone was right..she continued to be constantly struck down by common colds but at age three it began improving and then disappeared all together. She is 7 now, no asthma and the healthiest out of all her friends, she built up an amazing immune system when she was small.

Oh my goodness I’m also a FTM and my Dd was born in June 2020. We also isolated for ages until about April 2021. Let me tell you my girl now catches everything going. I’m actually nervous to take her playgroups as I know it’s will end in a cold cough fever and well both have a miserable week.

I’ve spoken with my gp about it and she said as long as babe is eating drinking not losing weight active and has periods of being well in between illnesses (even if only a few days/weeks) then it is within normal limits.

Solidarity because it is toughhh. Hate seeing them poorly. Xx

Some toddlers get ill a lot and it is very worrying and exhausting! One thing you can do is give a multivitamin, vitamin D deficiency is extremely common especially in winter, as is iron deficiency in small children. Both increase the likelihood of infections. I would get a good multivitamin containing iron and vitamin D (though usually you will need an extra vitamin D supplement because many contain just 400 IU vitamin D, which is half the recommended dose).
