I use fleece liners and DS2 rarely gets any redness but did on Christmas Day (he was in disposables [hangs head in shame emoticon] as we were gallavanting all over the place)

What do you guys all use? I use all different manner of nappies but always a fleece liner.

I have been using sudocream with cloth lately, haven't noticed any problems with absorbancy.

My DS gets red when in sposies as he's used to cloth now, also when MiL uses wipes

I use Sudocream sometimes too (with cloth nappies & fleece liners) and haven't had any problems. Don't use it all the time but do occasionally. Mostly I just use plain Vaseline as a barrier and find it works really well for most rashes and just keeps the urine off till it's had a chance to heal.

Ta I thought you couldn't use it. I do only use it occasionally. I am a recent convert to cloth but still need the courage to use them at night. He doesn't even wee much at night so I don't know what my problem is

I took a while to try cloth at night. If you boost well enough, you should be ok.

If he doesn't wee much at night, then you shouldn't have any problem! My little boy (9.5 months old) really soaks his nappy at night, but we still manage cloth! I've got him in a Minki fleece pocket at night with a bamboo prefold inside and his skin is so nice & dry in the morning, even tho the insert inside is soaking wet!

I use sudocrem with fleece liners. Don't use them with my fleece pocket nappies though (unless I add another layer of fleece/paper liner) as it sometimes stains and doesn't always come off in a 40 wash. Don't mind them ruining the fleece liners so much as I usually wash them at 60 and they are quite cheap so not a total disaster if totally ruined (not that I have ever had to throw one away for this reason, it is just precautionary!)

... and in fact, it's the disposables I have problems with at night! It's always a bit of a problem when we're away (and I often use disposables for holidays or weekends away) and the bed ends up getting soaked because the disposable seems to be absolutely soaked in the front half of the nappy and Benjamin along with clothes & bed are all totally wet. Happens to us lots of times with disposables for him - at least it hardly ever happens with cloth!

I am loving bumgenius but have just ordered a fuzzi bunz and I do line the bumgenius with a separate fleece liner despite it having a fleece inner. Once the fuzzi has arrived I will then make a decision on what is best for him and buy some more of either fuzzi or bumgenuis.

I have tried other nappies and have hemp booster that I bought for a pocketbot which doesn't fit so well so can boost with that.

Think I just need to take the plunge.

If you are using pocket nappies then don't slather on the sudocrem without lining the nappy with a paper or fleece liner first. The nappy cream can coat the fleece and cause it to repel any wetness which you obviously don't want! We used Bepanthen for ds2 as I found it was very gentle and effective.
