If, after 4months, a child is still wetting daily, do you go back to nappies?

we do the asking if she needs the loo, taking her to the loo, making sure she knows where wees and poos go. have successfully potty trainied two other dd's before now, but dd3 is finding it hard going.

and she isnt worried at all if she wees in her clothes.

[sigh]

no idea im afraid - my dd still does this sometimes and she is five - sometimes only a tiny leak but it drives me mad. most of time she is ok. and is really bright and switched on about things - but at this she is definitely not bothered

so i'll wait to see if anyone has good advice

I would. I wouldn't have lasted 4months before I put her back into nappies.

How many times a day is she wetting? DS2 was trained in October and still has the odd day where he forgets and I have to change trousers but it tends to just be an occasional accident rather than all the time. I put him in his bright bots pants when he had a couple of bad days recently which seemed to remind him of what he was supposed to be doing. I think if it was getting really bad though, I would be tempted to use some form of cloth pull up like a minki yoyo for a while and try again later.

2-3 times a day. we are lucky if we get one dry day a week. she wees laods as well. in the morning she fills her potty completely.

that is a lot of wee! In that case I would go with the nappies for a bit and try again in a few weeks.

Have you thought about eliminating dairy from her diet ? Some children (my DD is one of them) react to eating dairy by losing control of their bladder.

Signs include weeing frequently and the child having no aware of having done a wee until after the fact.

Might be worth a try ?

I find that my DD did react within a couple of hours of eating dairy and would be weeing uncontrolably for 24/36 hours after.
Luckily I discovered it by chance just before her first's birthday and now avoid that kind of stuff.
