I told myself I won't worry with my second baby but here I am asking Mumsnet for reassurance once again.

He's the happiest baby, chill, easy going, sleeps well and active when awake, very close to crawling, sitting up well. He beams at everyone he sees, giggles away when we pull funny faces or tickle him. even with masks quite often smiles at people, he loves eye contact and searches for that response. Self feeding and good eater, i know he can hear me as he turns his head when I call his name. He's clapping unintentionally, loves music and me singing to him.

And here I am worrying because he's not saying bababa mamama or dadada.

Google says autism but I don't think he's autistic. Anyone had a late babbler?

He's very vocal, blowing raspberries a lot, squealing making his arhhhhhhh, wahhhh noises but just not making babbling noises: da-da-da, ma-ma-ma.

He sounds absolutely normal to me.

It sounds normal!! They do different things at different times, at their own pace. 8 and a half months is on the early side for mama and dada isn’t it?

@SlyAvocado it is for actually meaning to say mummy or daddy, but to practice speech, they do babble earlier but don't really mean mama or dada yet if that makes sense?

Don't think any of mine were babbling with mama and dada noises at that age. He sounds absolutely fine

Given that people are confused at me for being worried, I'm sure it's all good.
