Chicken pox

My DS (3.5) has got chicken pox which he caught from nursery. I also have a DD who is 8 months, she doesn’t go to nursery yet as I’m still on maternity leave. We’ve been trying to keep DS and DD apart as much as possible but I know the chances are that she’ll also get it. However I’ve been reading that it’s often about 2 weeks between the spots appearing on the first child and appearing on the 2nd child, so we’ve got about a week and a half before we’ll know if she’s caught it. So my question is, do DD and I stay in for the next couple of weeks in case she’s contagious? We go to baby classes a couple of times a week, these are somewhat distanced and toys aren’t shared anyway due to covid but I’d hate to think we could pass it on to any other babies. Equally I don’t want to keep her in unnecessarily. What would you do?

Id probably give stuff like classes a miss where you're in close proximity to others, but still go out for walks etc where shes less likely to pass it around.

@Letsallscreamatthesistene thanks, I think you might be right. I was half thinking because the classes are distanced for covid it might be ok, but realistically she is crawling so it’s not so easy to keep her away from other babies. We just both really enjoy the classes so it’s annoying to have to miss them now ‘just in case’ and also if she does catch it.
