Swimming with toddler and baby

Hi everyone,

I have found a swim school that can accommodate myself and 12 week old coming along to mummy baby swim class and my toddler having his private lessons at the same time as us so we would all be in the pool together.

I am on my own so I am wondering how to handle things to make changing rooms tantrums minimum..

I’m thinking towelling robes for us all, skip the showers and get once we are home? Get baby dried first whilst giving toddler a snack to occupy then get him dressed after? I’ve never taken eldest to the pool on my own as I’ve always had dad to help so I’m maybe overthinking things.

Any tips would be appreciated!
Thank you

I take 3 on my own, so 2 will be a doddle! Slip showers other than a quick rinse. Make sure your 3 towels are on top of the bag so easily accessible. Get hooded towels for toddler and baby. Put towel on toddler and sit them on bench with a snack. Change baby and out in car seat/pram so they are secured. Then change toddler followed by you. Make sure you wrap yourself in a towel otherwise you'll end up getting children wet as you're changing them. Good luck!

Don't over think it, it will be easy with a 12 week old as they can't get away and are quick to dress. You can pop a nappy and a onesie on them in a minute or two. Have baby in pram while you get toddler changed.

The advice advice is great.

This is a useful alternative to a hooded towel for your LO. They're really easy to use and I loved them with DD.

Maybe a onesie to put your toddler in after? I do that with my 4 year old DD after swimming and it’s so much quicker and she’s instantly warm then she gets dressed at home.
