so my 9 week old little girl just had her first injections, i was told to give her calpol every 4-6 hours to stop a fever. when i got home i gave her some but she just dribbled quite a lot of it out. now i’m worrying incase she gets a fever, because i can’t give her anymore i don’t think. what should i do? should i be worried? Sad

Mine is terrible for this too. Very dribbly and spits it all out in disgust. I switched to D drops for his vitamin D over the stuff the nhs gives you with the pipette for this very reason.

Don't worry, just monitor her temperature and have a nice lazy day in doing nothing but being with her. All my boy wanted to do afterwards was feed and nap. Definitely don't try to top up what you think she's spat out.

If she takes a dummy you could try this in 4 hours as it's what works for me: give the paracetamol a little at a time, putting the dummy in after each little bit. This gets my boy to swallow it. No spitting out. Repeat til the full dose is gone.

I was doing this with the vitamin D too but thats a faff to do every single day so highly recommend D Drops if your baby spits everything out!

Wouldn't worry too much. I find the best way is to give tiny bits at a time nearer the back of their mouth.

Our now 5mth old only got a fever with her 3rd lot of jabs, 1st and 2nd I didn't give her the calpol because she didn't need it.

Mine was like this too, don't worry! I found it best to squirt a little bit of the calpol sort of sideways into his cheek so it wouldn't dribble out, and then gently hold his chin to encourage him to swallow it down.
