Hello everyone.
I really need some help and advice.

So my little girl is a bundle of joy, rarely crys, is so content and happy, just what we all wish for right?
Well if tried for about 3 months now to transition from breast to bottle. I've brought numerous bottles and tears, different formular. I've had dad feed, kids feedz left with my MIL. Nothing, she will not take the bottle. Unles I'm gone long enough she will, but with an almighty fuss and even then it isn't a great deal. She's eating solids and is a great water, she rarely feeds off me during the day, it's more through the night. She wakes up about three times in the space of an hour to be fed after I've put her to sleep within our of doing so.

I really really need help please.

@Hellard214
Have no advice but bumping for someone to come along and hopefully help you out, but I have read on this forum that if your about they can smell the milk from you so will refuse the bottle, can you try and not be in the house for a few days if possible and leave dad with her and hopefully it will help the process.

Thank you. I also read this. Unfortunately it isn't possible as he works and I have 2 other small children.

I'd say this is nothing to do with feeding then, given what you've said. It's purely comfort. She's not hungry.....
Does she have enough to eat at her last meal before bed?
I think if you can then keep doing it for another month or two to give her comfort and security and gradually wean her off?

Hi op, my first son was exactly the same and nothing absolutely nothing worked until I discovered this:

It worked amazingly and he took took it right away! It is perfect for transitioning from breast feeding and was worth it weight in gold! My son loved having his milk in this. They also do larger versions to transition to aswell.

Blackmagicqueen · 11/01/2022 11:12

took it x1

Forgot to say.... and forget about the bottle. Stop trying! One of mine never took a bottle. I tried EVERYTHING. The point here is she doesn't want a bottle because she's not hungry.
You could try a sippy cup.... mine preferred that, but only for water!! But it might help wean her off the breast feeding when the time comes.

Going to contradict previous posters because I was in a very similar situation to you until I bought the NUK naturesense bottle and Kendamil formula. The NUK naturesense really honestly has the most breast like teat I've seen (and I've bought loads!) and the baby can get the milk out by pushing it with their tongue exactly like breastfeeding. The milk comes out of multiple holes in the teat, again just like breastfeeding. You could start trying with expressed milk so she's used to the same taste OR you could try the kendamil formula which for me (and again I've tried loads!) is the nicest smelling and tasting formula I've seen. It doesn't have any palm or fish oil in like other formulas and it's primarily based on real cows milk. Finally my super attached to the booby baby takes a bottle!! I'm planning ok gradually swapping more feeds over as the weeks pass. The night feeds problem you mention is a comfort thing, so you'll need to try and wean her off that, she won't need feeding them assuming she's had a good meal and a good drink of milk pre bed. Good luck x

@Inthesky42 thank you so so much for your help and advice. I will try one of those. Did you have a problem with the night feeds, do I simply just give her the bottle instead of my boob? I agree with the formula my other two had this. How long did it take ? Xx

@blackmagicqueen
Thanks a lot I'll check it out too

@whatisheupto
Yeah I'm not sure if she's hungry every time. It's hard to know. Does she keep waking because she's hungry.
