Do fleece liners help prevent nappy rash?

Am only using washables at night now for DD 2.5yrs. Find that the whole nappy area is tending to get red incl. bottom cheeks and lasts all day despite being in dry knickers for daytime. We are just trying washables for nights after using disposables since she was 6 months and she never had nappy rash with disposables as I guess they are so dry.

I'm using MEOS & airflow wrap stuffed with bamboo pad, would a fleece liner over this keep her drier and stop the redness? The nappy is very wet in the morning, but it's just urine no poo at all. Bad ammonia smell in nappies too when we take it off, despite cold rinsing and non-bio soaking. I use Ecover and am sure she's not reacting to that.

Do wool longies help this, have been wondering about this approach but am worried about them being less reliable than the airlow?

Any ideas nappy experts?

wool for us especially at night is very reliable imo.we used disana, cheap and plain looking but work well.
fleece liners may help but for nappy rash we use raw silk liners, work very well for ds.
also we found that a wash at 60 occasionally helped-we usually do 40.

The Disana ones are the short pants, yes? - I quite like the way they look even if they are strangely old fashioned. DD is getting red marks from the elastic of the airflows too, so the Disanas would solve this too. Do they not wick onto the sheet at the point that the child is lying on? I've read that they aren't good for day as where they are being sat on they wick through, so I figure is must be the same at night? Is there are quick way to lanolise them as I can't wait through 3 weeks of unreliability to get them going.

Silk's a good idea, I'll look out for some silk liners. Ta, Happy Christmas.

they shouldnt leak on bedding.weve tried them in day and was ok if ds wasnt in buggy or sitting too long.from what i remember-havent used for a bit as ds keeps having runny bum trouble so in disposables-we lanolised without drying in between so didnt take too long.and we used olive soap for washing.

thanks.regular thing-hes cows milk intolerant and no matter how hard we try he still seems to be having things with it in occassionaly so then we have 4 days off runny bum we tried to continue with cloth but it gets to point when diarhoa is hard enough to cope with without piles of yucky nappies!hes in cloth again at the moment but im sure after visiting mil and my mum theyll be the joy of poo again soon!
