Rolling!

My daughter is 6months old and still isn't rolling? She can sit unsupported for short periods of time before becoming unbalanced but she's not rolling at all yet. She hates being on her front and will cry within seconds of being put on her front, she'd much prefer to be in her walker or jumperoo. I'm worried that she's behind on her development? Is it normal for her to not be rolling yet? I'm probably comparing her to my son to much since he was rolling at 4 months, crawling at 7 and walking by 9 Hmm

I've tried contacting my health visitor on a few occasions but she never contacts me back or I'm told I'm on the list for a phone call but she's extremely busy. Sad

Does she get much tummy time or time in a sling? Or even time on the floor on her back?

I attempt to do tummy time daily but within a few seconds she's screaming and getting herself into such a state that I have to sit her up.

Every child is different my dc all rolled between 2-4 months my dn didn't roll till 12 months.
My dn was crawling at 7 months but Dc1 never crawled, Dc2&3 crawled at 9 months.
They're all teens now and all met their milestones in their own time.
I wouldn't overly worry if they are progressing in other areas.

I think at six months it's not a huge worry yet. Maybe she just needs more time. If she can sit unsupported already I suppose her core strength is quite good. It's always better to ask the HV though. Shame that they aren't available.

Does she make attempts at rolling? Try to roll to her side?

Ds hates tummy time too. We just do a few minutes several times a day. Apart from that he spends lots of time on the floor on his back.

I've read recently that babies at this age shouldn't spend too much time in a walker or jumparoo as it doesn't allow their leg muscles from developing properly. Not sure if this is true or not though. Apparently they should be limited to twenty minutes

DD1 rolled once at five months, projectile puked and didn’t voluntarily do it again until the reflux abated at around 13 months. No tummy time due to the persistent puking.

Sat at 5.5 months, never crawled (every time she tried she was very sick, poor thing) but cruised at 9 months and walked at 11. No difference at all now at age 3 between her and her peers who all rolled and crawled.

My little one is nearly 7 months

She can roll but doesn't really do it
She doesn't like being on her front

She can sit and likes to stand supported

My DD rolled front to back at 5 months, mostly because she hated being on her tummy.

Didn’t roll back to front until 8.5 months. Some babies are just a bit lazy!

Funnily enough she rolled from back to front for the first time today! It's like she knew I was worried about it ShockThank you all for the responses!
