3 children in one room

Due to a relationship breakdown I'm forced to go into private renting. I don't qualify for social housing as I am moving to a new area to be close to family, as a result I won't be banded highly enough to be able to get a house anytime soon.
3 bed houses are out of my price range but I have seen a couple of 2 beds in a nice area close to good schools to rent.
Can three children in one room work if they are different sexes? They are aged between 5-9. It would be for a year or two whilst I got on my feet with work and saving etc.
TIA

We were in the same situation. Get a sofa bed in the living room, give the oldest DC their own room (or split by sex?). You have to be militant about putting the bedding away every morning but it worked really well for us.

It is doable. They are young enough that they could cope. You can get triple bunk beds or ones with a single on top and a double underneath.
Alternatively could one of them share with you (probably the youngest I suppose, or if one of them is a girl and the other two boys?)
Obviously it is not ideal but needs must and they will manage.

Of course it’s fine, many live like this in social housing with no choice, there was a family of 5 living above me in a one bed flat, mum dad 2 girls and a boy, oldest girl was secondary age.

Of course absolutely fine, it's happened lol over the world forever. Agree with PP that maybe youngest or same sec could share with you?
Also I shared with two other siblings for a few years and my parents for those bunks that had curtains you could pull over (Almost like on a ship cabin) and it was great for privacy

It can definitely be done, like you say it’s not for long and many people do this. Speaking from experience, I have 3 same sex children who share one bedroom while me and hubby are in the second bedroom. We only have 2bedrooms.

It’s not the worst age range for it. I’d say how smoothly it goes really comes down to the personality of the kids

Maybe one bunk bed and one loft bed. That way under the loft you could have either open space or storage.

You don't have much choice! They'll be fine.

My three brothers shared a room for many years while growing up. Do you qualify for universal credit? Might be worth doing a calculation on entitled to. I think once your oldest turns 10 you might be entitled to the three bedroom housing allowance as they don't recommend different sexes sharing once over 10.

OP would get 3 bed LHA as 3 DC anyway. It's just if the older two are opposite sex she would be entitled to 4 bed rate once the middle child is 11.
