DD2 is 2.3yrs and I think she is ready, has good bladder control and out of the last few times we have tried she has only had 1 accident (i've just not had time to stay in with her for a few days so have been putting nappies back on for naps and outings so today is hopefully the start of us cracking it)

She has been without a nappy since 8.30am and so far nothing at all, no accidents no success..........

Anyone else doing potty training today?

Have i really? It feels a bit like I've just been a jammy sod! Her nappy was even dry when she got up from nap which is never normally is!

This is our first proper day of staying in and not putting a nappy on apart from naps.

Just make sure you dont chicken out!! If she can do one day she can do two etc. I would say the dry nappy after the nap probably is a fluke so dont go down that road just yet, but very well done!!!
She will have accidents though and dont make a big deal out of them one way or another

WatsIsForLifeNotJustForXmas · 22/12/2007 17:23

I used to stay put for three days with mine just to make sure, I know how busy you probably are with Christams but see if you can swing it

LoveMyGirls · 22/12/2007 17:26

6 now or 7 times to use the potty?

Thats great, really well done to her!!

LoveMyGirls · 22/12/2007 17:29

I'm definatly going to stay in for the next 2 days, dp can take it in turns with me to keep an eye on her and stay in etc I'm a bit worried about christmas day because that will be day 4 and we're going to my mums for dinner and my mum has just had a very expensive cream carpet fitted.............eeeekkkk!

After 1 day and knowing dd2 I am feeling confident she will at least tell me a few seconds before at least so as long as we're all on the ball one of us should be able to get her there in time......I dont really want to use pull ups as personally i think they are a waste of time and if she's doing so well I really do not want to go backwards with this.

LMGs that's great.

Pack loads of spare clothes and go for a short outing on Monday if you are feeling strong enough, nothing stressful like supermarket, somthing like popping to the newsagent or similar ruse

Good luck

Was thinking about popping to mil's for a cuppa its about a 15min drive (too far?) what do I do if she wants to wee on the way? I'm thinking nappy bags kitchen roll in potty so can tie up? Also going to invest in a couple of piddle pad things.

Don't bother with pull ups, i think they know that they are nappies.

Just watch her like mad in your Mums and i bet she will sail through the day. If its a long trip i would stick a nappy on her on the way home in case she falls asleep, eugh, wee wee on the car seat !!

WatsIsForLifeNotJustForXmas · 22/12/2007 17:37

Good idea to take her to your mils. No, 15 minute drive is grand, just watch how much she has to drink for about half hour before and get her to go to the loo before you leave and she will be grand !

LoveMyGirls · 22/12/2007 18:04

Bugger 1 accident! While i was dishing up dinner - oh well thats still not bad is it?

My mums isnt far about 10 min trip, I'm going to buy a couple of piddle pads anyway as I will need them for school runs.

Well done!!!!!!!

See i have been watching to make sure you are getting support

LoveMyGirls · 24/12/2007 08:36

Thanks very much nice to know someone cares We have now got to the stage where she can wee on demand (obviously wanting sweets every 5 mins......) she is squeezing tiny amounts out what do we do now?

We are going to venture out today i've brought a travel potty (said I wouldnt but in the end thought its an investment for the future (im a childminder) so I might as well. I've also brought 2 piddle pads for pushchair/ car so I think we're ready to venture out!

I'm thinking of leaving the potties upstairs today so she can only use the downstairs toilet, what do you think? Now I know she can get there in time and can wee on demand?
