What's the best (most effective) waterproof cover for single toddler bed please?

Panda bamboo ones are the best I’ve found , dunelm stock them - they’re not that awful rustling plastic type

We used Huggies bed pads, disposable pads which adhere to the mattress. They immediately absorbed any leaks so urine wasn't able to soak the mattress or pillows. Unless wet they lasted ages so not as environmentally horrendous as you might imagine

Definitely Hippychick tencel mattress protector sheets.
Have lasted me two kids and have never leaked, feel soft, not crinkly.
Recommend them to everyone!

We've had a variety of sizes and brands over the years (we use them on all the beds in case of spillages including in our folding camper) bought mostly from wherever was cheapest at the time, and never had an issue with rustling or leaking. I remember it being a 'thing' as a child, but assume fabric technology has moved on.
I haven't noticed a difference between the brands to be honest. Even The White Company one on our bed is no better.
The only ones I haven't liked were the kind that sit on top with bands of elastic to go under the corners; they often shift around more and the elastic has a habit of popping off when trying to fit the sheet. The protectors styled like a fitted sheet are a better design IMO. We also had one for the cotbed which fully encased the mattress and zipped shut. It was great until you found yourself needing to strip it off at 3am! This thankfully only happened a few times as we use the layering method of protector-sheet-protector-sheet. If that bottom one was coming off, it was the 2nd 'incident' of the night (only happened with vomiting bugs).

My sister recommended these as she works in a care home, they are brilliant. Soft and fluffy and go over the sheets so you aren't washing sheets everyday too. Now my son is older he rarely wets so we put it under the sheets but was a lifesaver when wetting was almost nightly. AND SO MICH CHEAPER THAN ANY KIDS MARKETED ITEM!!!!

Velfont washable mattress protectors are the best ones I've found. Can get from John Lewis and possibly Amazon?

Cait73 · 02/01/2022 10:20

@MaryBoBary they look great but 3 year old is a real wriggler it wouldn't last ontop of the sheets not for a second

@VictoryLap they're a really reasonable price, thanks
