Hello. My two year old daughter has just tripped on her blanky and cracked her mouth off her new dolls house and knocked her front upper tooth out of place. There was a little bit of blood and you can see her lip is going to bruise. Obviously it's Sunday tomorrow so we won't be able to get a dentist to check her over.
I was just wondering if anyone had any experience or advice. She screamed her little head off. Poor little thing. She's full of cold aswell right now and has just dozed off. I'm not too concerned about her sleeping concussion wise as it was her mouth and not the head that took the impact and it's right on bedtime.

Any help or advice appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi @needhelpman

This is probably not very helpful in the short term but I totally knocked out one of my front teeth when I was 3 but have never had any problems as a result. Hope your LO is feeling better today 💝

@needhelpman this happened to my now dd15. I was hoovering and she ran up behind me as I was pulling the hoover back when she was 2. I felt awful, swollen lip and one of her front teeth was pushed right back and quickly turned a grey colour!!

Within a couple of weeks max it had moved back and white again. Apparently this can happen with milk teeth but not adult teeth

My DD bashed her two front teeth loose on her little toddler trampoline. I took her to the dentist to get them checked. They said with them being baby teeth they will most likely firm back up which they did and then then came out when she was about 6. My niece also bashed hers at the same age, hers turned grey for ages but then eventually came white again and had no issues with her adult teeth

Thanks for this. Yeah, her gums have gone really dark and bruised and her tooth is knocked back. Swollen lip but now back to mischief. Sounds very similar to your experience so thank you for the reassurance

Thank for this. Sorry to hear of your experience but it does shed some light on what to expect. Our little one is currently back to mischief. A couple of people on here have said the teeth seem to grey and then return to white with. I issues in adult teeth which was our main concern. So thank you.

This is a help. Thanks. She's currently shaking bells in my face and laughing her little head off. Thanks for taking the time to reassure us.

Mine fell off her scooter when she was 2 and bashed one of her front teeth. She’s now 4 and it is still a bit grey and slightly wonky but she didn’t lose it and as it’s a baby tooth it doesn’t really matter since there was no harm done to the big teeth underneath.

My three year old has done this to the same teeth three times. Dentist in the next couple of weeks for an x ray is a good idea but unless she’s in a lot of pain it doesn’t need to be today. 3 days of ibruprofen for the swelling. Only soft food for a week. Check gums daily for pus as an infection can start internally where the teeth are injured.

DS2 fell face first on a tile floor and had two grey front baby teeth for several years.
Adult teeth all fine when they came through.
