Son fell and cracked his teeth

So two days ago my son fell on a hard floor and cracked his top front teeth. One broke down vertically and into the root, while the other was chipped at the end. The dentist had to pull the really broken one.

My son is only 2 Sad does anyone have an idea when his adult tooth might come in? Earlier than it would have or will he just have a for the next 4-7 years? Sad

Dd did the same at the age of 2.5yrs.
She had to have antibiotics a few times when it got infected so they pulled the remains of the tooth at that point. She was my gummy bear for a few years until her adult teeth came I through approx 7yrs old.
My main worry was the impact on her adult teeth as the dentist said he couldn't reassure us they would be OK until they erupted. Although he did say that dentistry is so good now they would be able to make it appear normal if there was a problem when they came through.
I needn't have worried, her adult teeth are beautiful, straight and healthy. And she looks after them really well, I suspect because she values them more than someone who never had a problem.

When it first happened I was heartbroken, my poor dd 💔 (probably exacerbated by being heavily pregnant at the time). But it soon just became her normal smile. When she started reception, i was worried about possible bullying but she became friends with a boy who couldn't pronounce her name.
Within a few days of starting school, he asked his mum if "the girl with the really happy smile" could come round to play.
After I got over the initial shock, I did have phases of worrying about her adult teeth, but what a waste of emotions that was, I couldn't do anything about it while they were still in her gums! 🙄

I hope the inflammation and soreness eases soon for your ds. You'll soon get used to his new smile and within a few months, when new people ask about what happened you'll realise how rarely you notice it anymore.
