Breastfed baby cries at daily bottle

My baby is 8 and a half weeks old. He was exclusively breastfed since birth then we started introducing a bottle a day of expressed breast milk for my husband to do when he turned 4 weeks old (i pump during the feeds). He does take every feed and finishes most or all of the bottle eventually however every time there is fussiness. He’ll either cry or play with the bottle rather than drink from it and my husband will take lots of breaks inbetween to sooth him if needed. Once he finally drinks from it he’ll drink it at a good pace but because of the fussiness on average it takes 45 minutes for him to finish the feeding session at around 140ml. From the breast he’ll take 7-10 minutes in comparison. My husband feeds him in another room, has tried a couple positions and we started with the MAM bottles, just moved from slow flow teat 0 to 1 now. We tried tommee tippee before but seems to have the same fussiness. Its good he does finish the bottles but just wondering if this is normal? We don’t want him to end up rejecting the bottle as eventually we will need to move to bottle feeding more often.

Stick with it and see what happens. My eldest gradually got used to the bottle of given by my mother, or in the car, but otherwise dhe was pretty much against the bottle. Started totally refusing at 11 months, but it didn't really matter as she'd take milk from a cup. one of my twins is perfectly happy to take as much is as little from a bottle as is convenient, totally unfazed by it. Takes one from me, or a total stranger! The other wouldn't take one from me, but would do from DH, DMum or nanny. Has now suddenly started refusing at 14 months.

My point is, you can't really tell how well they'll take to mixed feeding. Give it a go and see what happens.

Some just don’t take to bottle feeding and would rather wait for a bf. Even if mummy is now where near and a period of hunger has to be suffered before mummy arrives. I’m looking at you DD

My DS wasn’t mix fed early on but the needed to introduce some formula at about 6 months and he wouldn’t take a bottle . He did take milk in a free flow supply cup very easily though.
