... using camomile tea on DS nappy rash "is a bit hippy"

New HV. Neither of them knew what "sore" on DS's twinky was so have to go back to walk in clinic so a Dr can look.

Was waiting for comment on bumgenius but the mad glint in my eyes may have put her off

Just thought I'd share that gem with you. Other, older, HV is wonderful btw!

she actually said "a bit hippy?" Never mind that it works eh? You're far better off slathering a rich cocktail of man-made chemicals on his bum

I hope you also told her you make your mothering decisions based on his astrological chart and will therefore not be feeding him any vegetables until uranus moves into the next astrological house in August 2011.

Ooooooh it gets worse.

Went to see Dr, also new.He asks who told me to use these (real) nappies

Come again?

He tells me I should be using sposies as real nappies are "bad" for fungal infections like the one DS has. Not on a temp basis... ALL THE TIME!!!!!!

Am f**king livid

I could cry...

... but my astro chart says that would be a bad thing and it will play havoc with my lentils.

ah yes, there nothing like a good non-breatheable disposable to cure a fungal infection

Whatever you do, don't upset your lentils- not so close to a full moon - who knows what might happen

Tell your doctor about me. I used disposables on ds1 and ds2 and they were always getting thrushy nappy rash. Ds3 in almost 3 years (I know, I know, I will potty train him at Christmas) has never once had a fungal nappy rash.

Jesus, what is wrong with all these medical professionals?

Where do they learn this shit? Why do they think they're qualified to talk this drivel?

I have tried metanium, drapolene, bepanthen, sudocreme, germoline, vaseline, zinc and castor oil, bottom butter, calendula cream, kamillosan, vagosen, canesten, chamomile tea.

the only things that have workd are

rooibos tea
emu oil
grapefruit seed extract
honey
egg white
morhulin
conotrane
orabase
manuka honey

interesting how only 3 of those things are creams that the doctor prescribed.

barbamama · 22/12/2007 00:57

I also tried everything under the sun and for us, it was Green Baby talc-free baby powder that did the trick, in case anyone is interested. Kept the moisture under control I think so thrush didn't take hold.

What is even more baffling is this is the first time DS has ever had a fungal nappy rash and its been caught really early, today you'd never know he had anything wrong bar a small sore on the end of his willy.

I'm still foaming.

Must try chanting as I still want to hit the fecker

ohhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

nope, still want to level him.

Have been washing nappies at 60 with vinegar in the rinse. Am hoping that will get rid of any nasties.

ADDICTED, thats some list and I don't think I've heard of all of those remedies

Could you be...... a lentil weaving hippy like me?
