Yes.

You need to get at least a 2:2 level degree and then do a PGCE which is a right nightmare to get on. I was rejected from the PGCE last year so had to wait til this year and have been accepted this time.

So that is 1 yr full time to become a teacher - they do Primary or Secondary PGCEs and there are other routes (GTP etc) if you prefer.

Then it is one year as an NQT (newly qualified teacher) and then I think it is fully-fledged teacher status.

Good luck with it all; alternitively you could do a BEd teaching degree and get the same result in 4 yrs instead of a 3/4 yr degree then 1 yr post-grad if you get on, or longer if not.

Yes. You can teach RE but your degree needs to be at least 50% theology. I am on PGCE this year and it's fab but exhausting!

Hope that helps.
