Nurofen for babies was always the best thing for us

OrDis · 19/12/2021 21:05

Yes, I second neurofen. Seemed much better for us for fevers and for teething

Emelene · 19/12/2021 21:07

I like anbesol liquid, it’s very numbing

Ibuprofen for babies along with anbusol teething liquid. Winning combination!

helpadvicewhateverneeded · 19/12/2021 21:08

Second Anbesol liquid

RandomMess · 19/12/2021 21:09

I used it all with my one that suffered horrifically

Paracetamol, ibuprofen, teething powders and numbing gel.

MollyQueenOfSocks · 19/12/2021 21:10

Thirding anbesol. I use it for general tooth pain now too. Amazing for teething babies!

ponkydonkey · 19/12/2021 21:12

Yep calpol and 2 hours later ibuprofen

Mine used to love a frozen flannel 🤷🏼‍♀️

And no tomatoes or fruit very acidic for the gums

Shmithecat2 · 19/12/2021 21:14

Fourthing Anbesol. Teething powders are an absolute nonsense.

shygirliee56 · 19/12/2021 21:15

I gave him calpol already at 6pm but he's still in pain 111 said to
Follow instructions of the pack not sure what to do

Teething powders ease acidic tummy and nappies - some DC really suffer with this when teething. Only one of mine did, was utterly horrific.

RandomMess · 19/12/2021 21:17

Do you have ibuprofen to give as well or not?

TulipsGarden · 19/12/2021 21:20

You need infant Nurofen, it's very much like Calpol but you can give it in-between Calpol doses, up to three times per day. I think it works much better for teething and fevers.

Mine loved the monkey teether, and teething powders at least cheer them up because they're slightly sugary. Rubbing on the sore gum with a flannel sometimes seemed to help. Otherwise you just have to wait it out - it is horrible, I know.

shygirliee56 · 19/12/2021 21:21

Yes I do have the nurofen so can I give him even though I gave him calpol at 6pm

Because no one on 111 service was helping

LapinR0se · 19/12/2021 21:22

What’s his temperature

RandomMess · 19/12/2021 21:23

Yes you can alternate infant paracetamol with infant ibuprofen as they are completely different drugs.

shygirliee56 · 19/12/2021 21:24

His temp went down not quite sure what it is as I've misplaced my thermometer but he doesn't feel hot he feels normal now

OP posts:
shygirliee56 · 19/12/2021 21:24

He's just crying in pain

OP posts:
RandomMess · 19/12/2021 21:24

Don't assume it is just teething if he has a high temperature it could be viral or bacterial earache both of which are agony!

RandomMess · 19/12/2021 21:25

Is he happier sat upright?

shygirliee56 · 19/12/2021 21:26

Doctor already ruled out ear infection went hospital earlier
