NHS maternity pay

I have just beeb offered a job in the NHS and am currently employed by the Local authority. I'm changing jobs as I am being made redundant soon, and this new offer is a permanent post.
So here's the tricky bit. We want to try and conceive our 2nd child next year, but I want to know how long do I have to work for the NHS before being entitled to maternity pay? Another question, if I'm not entitled to maternity pay by the time we conceive, am i entitled to statutory maternity pay? I'm not too concerned about the amount itself as I could live on the £150 a week stat pay, but don't want to fall pregnant to find out I get nothing.
Choosing the right time to start trying is a sensitive topic because even though I caught straight away with our first, we had a miscarriage in July, so I also need to factor in that it may take longer this time and I don't want to big of an age gap. Any advice appreciated.

I'm a nurse in the NHS and had to be in the job for a year before getting full maternity leave and pay. I'm not sure how pay works if you haven't been there a year by the time you go on maternity leave, but I'm assuming it would be less. Good luck TTC!

Just to add, whichever trust you're working for should have a maternity policy, so have a read of that. Ours is on our trust intranet so yours should be similar.
