To cut a long story short...my child has become friends with another child since starting school and it isn't going down well.
My child thinks the world of this friend and as do they but since becoming friends, it has impacted their behaviour and they have started swearing at us.
When confronted about the swearing, they say they learnt it from the other child. I have spoken to the other child's Mum occasionally walking back from school and she has a very 'laid-back' approach to parenting but I have heard the child swear at the Mum too.
Is it just a case of we continue to teach our child that swearing is bad and never to say those words or has anyone been in this position and spoken to the school?
I know children pick things up all the time but it's getting ridiculous and no, having spoken to the Mum a few times, she isn't the type of person you can speak to about the issue as I can imagine I'd just get a mouthful of abuse.
Thank you.
