average ages you potty trained yours?

I think dd may be 'ready' for a go at potty training. She's 2 and 1 month and asks me to change her nappy often after each wee and has done 2 poos in a potty and seems relatively keen to sit on it for short periods of time. I'd thought I'd wait until she was closer to 2.5 as that seems the average age of people I know.

What do you guys think?

Hmmm ... all this is making me think maybe this is a bit too early and I could leave her a little longer. I'm in no rush to be honest I just thought she seemed kind of interested.

ds2 was 2.6mo (dry at night too by 2.8mo) ds2 was dry day time by 2.2mo although still has a pull up at night(2.7mo). He's been a restless sleeper and we're still working on getting that sorted out so didnt want him to have the added excuse for getting out of bed. Neither use the potty at all, ds1 does everything himself now at 4yrs exactly, ds2 needs help with bottom wiping but otherwise takes himself off. They both stand to do wees!

Why don't you just keep putting her on the potty regularly (we used to read books to ds1 while he sat after breakfast and after tea) and see how she goes? She may even start asking for it herself.
I bought pants for ds1 and started talking about using them a couple of months before I started properly training (i.e. nappies off). I didn't put him in pants until he actually told me he wanted to try. I still feel his readiness was a bit marginal, but then again I read about all these different experiences on mn and I'm not convinced that it is all in the timing - I think some toddlers are easy to potty train and some just aren't!

ds was 2.6 & got it immediately, dry within a week.

Tonight dd was completely insistent that I change her nappy after EVERY wee and then she asked for the potty and did an enormous poo. I think I'm going to have to give it a go. I just feel so utterly not ready myself .
