13 day old on day 3 of no poo - help

Baby is 13 days old, formula fed, plenty of wet nappies, feeding okay but hasn’t had a poo for 3 days now
She seemed okay up until today where she keeps grunting and arching her back/straining and seems in pain - not passing any trumps either
Not sure if this is normal or what to do?
Any advice?
Thank you x

Have you tried cycling her legs? Or massaging her tummy?

Yeah I have - she seems to push against me when I try and do her legs :(

I wouldn't worry. When my DS was a baby we used to have 'poo day' which occurred about every 3rd day. One of my friends had 3 DC and one of them had 'poo days' too, again about every 3rd day or so. Now when I say 'poo day' I don't mean it was every nappy or anything like it, it was just that's when you'd see the first dirty nappy after just wet ones.

Go to the GP ASAP. Constipation is not great for young babies and they can help get things moving again.

If you've not been discharged by the midwife team you could ring them.

The fact she isnt passing wind is maybe a tad concerning. If she was trumping away I wouldnt be concerned.

Maybe phone your GP. I do think whilst you're waiting for the appointment you're in for an almight poonami! Its sods law!

My baby is 10wo and we had this exact same problem around the same age. I enlisted help from my mum who massaged his legs, his tummy, gave him a tiny bit of water (probably frowned upon but hey ho!) and it bloody well worked. I’ve honestly never seen a baby poo sooooo much! He also has colic drops which also seem to help with his pooing, he hasn’t been anywhere near as bad since.

Old fashioned remedy from my great grandmother was an ounce of boiled water (cooled down to warm temperature obviously) with a few granules of sugar.
I tried it on desperation and it worked and worked with my following two children.
But it is not recommended and not the official advice. Just saying- worked for me though
