If it is illegal (I have no idea whether it is or not) how come none of the hidden camera journalists or the recently exposed nursing home hidden camera exposers have been prosecuted/sued?
I did my research on google and got some Links but not sure.

Is this for your own home and are there concerns?
In a workplace, which is what your home will be to your nanny, you can have cameras but your employee must be informed of where they are.

Would you tell your nanny? A friend once didn’t tell me her husband put a camera in their living room (he liked to see them from work?! They are no longer together) until I spotted it and asked and I didn’t say much but was put out as creeped out didn’t know.I was breastfeeding at time and didn’t cover up carefully when she wasn’t in the room!

When I was younger I worked as a nanny (abroad) and my employer put cameras up without telling me. I was a bit weirded out, but they were clearly visible so it wasn’t like there was an attempt to trick me.

Now I’m a parent myself I totally understand it. She didn’t know me from Adam, and there’s always a risk.

I think it’s fine to get cameras but it would be very wrong to try and hide it from the your nanny. She needs to know she can’t e.g. get changed outside of the bathroom.

Yes I would let her know and take into her into confidence.

Sure I can understand your point of view. Totally respect that.

Journalists can use secret recordings if it’s in the public interest

Do you want a camera that’s hidden inside a teddy and no one knows is there, or just something to film the inside of the house?

If it’s the latter, Nest cams are good, and we’ve got a Nest home hub which is like an iPad in a stand and can be used for lots of different things, and also has a camera and mic to record, which can easily be flicked off if you don’t want to be recorded
