Weetabix? Oatabix?

Fallagain · 24/11/2021 19:07

Lots of them have added sugar and salt.
Do rice crispy have much added to them?

Thesearmsofmine · 24/11/2021 19:07

Plain Cheerios are good for practicing the pincer grip, I used to pop some on the tray along.with some pieces of fruit.

We give bite size Shreddies or equivalent cheap version from Aldi (Wheaties?). No sugar or added crap, and easy for little hands to grab. I soak it in milk for a bit and give with fruit.

mayblossominapril · 24/11/2021 19:21

I just give toast and fruit. My eldest often eats a toasted cheese sandwich!
Scrambled or boiled egg, beans on toast,

whoami24601 · 24/11/2021 19:39

Supermarket versions of things like cheerios are often much lower I'm sugar than the kellogs/ nestle version if that helps. The best cereals are weetabix and shredded wheat.

Blackmagicqueen · 24/11/2021 19:42

Cheesy fluffy omelette or scrambled egg, warm weetabix and fruit was a favourite with dc2 at that age.

MissyB1 · 24/11/2021 19:46

I look for anything with sugar content under 5%. Mini shredded wheat are good but plain. Stuff like Shreddies are higher in sugar but also fortified with iron and other vitamins. DS fave is multigrain Cheerios (well supermarket brand equivalent!)

Jsgdud · 24/11/2021 20:20

Bitesize shreddies (we have Aldi's own)
Weetabix
Porridge (just rolled oats)
Sometimes cornflakes.
They're the only ones I've found really that are low in sugar.

Jsgdud · 24/11/2021 20:21

Sorry I didn't mean Bitesize shreddies I meant Bitesize shredded wheat!
