Dummy advice please - 3 month old

I recently introduced a dummy to my 3-month-old to help with his day naps and it has worked wonders in a sense that I can now put him down for a nap and he only needs a dummy and my hand on his chest to fall asleep within a few minutes.
My questions regarding the dummy:

He usually has a dummy in his mouth for the whole nap length. Sometimes it falls out - I don't do anything if he's sleeping peacefully but I do pop it back in when I can see him waking up and stirring. He then sometimes drifts off back to sleep. Is this reinserting ok? His naps are still short (30-40 min) so I do what I can to extend their time.

He never had a dummy for night time and he seems content and (re)settles well without it.
If he doesn't need it I'd rather not encourage it (so I don't need to keep reinserting it all night etc). However, am I creating SIDS risk now he takes dummy during the day but not at night?

No idea of sids risk. I’ve used a dummy for sleep with all 3 of mine but removed it at 6 months. It was never an issue I didn’t feel like they needed dummy to settle by then. I’d use it for night if needed but look at removing it once baby is older.

The research on dummy use and SIDS risk is very inconclusive. If you want to give him a dummy in the day but not at night then do so. If he’s sleeping on his back in a cot and he’s in the same room as you at night then the chances of SIDS are very low.
