Sudden silent reflux at 7 weeks - which formula to use?

I’m hoping someone can help me as I’m mentally exhausted trying to feed my baby. He was great until now, 4 oz every 3 hours. 2 days ago he started having troubles drinking his bottle. Would only drink 1 oz and then started kicking, grunting, crying. I can see he is hungry he wants the bottle but once in his mount he spits it up, kicks, goes red and cries :( I’m sure it’s silent reflux.
We were on Aptamil until now, yesterday I switched to Aptamil Comfort but it tastes absolutely rotten so I’m not giving it to him. I’m now back to normal Aptamil and Colief drops, so far only two feeds but no difference really.
What other formulas should I try??

My baby is 6 weeks and has had silent reflux since around 1 week. I've been the doctors 4 times but they won't prescribe anything stronger than gaviscon even though I know omeprazole is the main thing that helps silent reflux. We have however been referred to a dietitian but that could take ages. My boy also had cmpa symptoms so is on prescription allergy milk now which has helped significantly.

I think you need to wait two weeks for the milk to work, we tried aptamil comfort before he went on prescription and it took a few days but it did help somewhat but obviously it has cows milk in so didn't work.

Things that I've found that help is keeping him upright after feeds for 30 mins. And to be honest; a dummy at most times, the swallowing helps comfort.

The baby gaviscon helps a tiny bit but I only give half a sachet per feed as it makes babies constipated.

Also tilting the crib and Moses makes sleeping more comfortable for the baby. Other than that the doctor just says they'll grow out of it 😭😫

We used HIPP, Gaviscon from the doctors and tommee tippee anti reflux bottles

I have read a lot of people saying HIPP milk helps…I already tilted the cot so hoping this will help. There are so many milks, it’s so difficult to chose and one may work for someone but not nessesary for your baby :( I just can’t stick with Aptamil comfort as the taste of it gives me shivers, I don’t know how a baby could drink it :( it’s rank. It’s all so frustrating to see your baby hungry but so upset and not eating

Kendamil is an amazing formula which has a lot of amazing reviews about babies who had colic and reflux etc who were different babies on Kendamil after being on aptamil cow and hate etc. It's what I started my baby on but as I say he's now on allergy milk, I was sad as it has incredible ingredients and he loved the taste

Eldest had vomiting reflux and settled on HiPP after a six week trial on hypoallergenic milk to rule out CMPA, along with ranitidine and Carobel to thicken.

DD2’s reflux is mainly silent, started on HiPP but it smells totally different from when DD1 had it in 2019 - apparently they’ve changed the recipe. She got horrendously constipated on it. We then trialled Kendamil but that didn’t help (despite smelling delightful), and have finally settled on Kendamil Goat plus Carobel to thicken and omeprazole. Almost immediate improvement when put onto Goat and Carobel.

I think it’s a case of trial and error for each baby, but a thickener such as Carobel can really help for either vomiting or silent reflux.
Both DDs went from taking 1oz per feed to 3oz immediately.

Any other mums have any advise on milk? Night feed now another nightmare :( I’m at my wits end.

My little boy had silent reflux and we used aptamil pro with gaviscon from the gp which drastically helped. I know gaviscon is hit or miss with helping but for us it made a huge difference.
Also have you checked his mouth for thrush? My little boy had that as well and once that was treated it helped too

We don't have compelte silent reflux but my little girl has reflux and would spit up alot and sometimes be uncomfortable feeding, we are using cow and gate reflux which is thickened and she doesn't bring barely anything up now as its thickened it stays in the tummy

We used this for DD a few years ago, and now 3 week old DS is showing signs of reflux I think I'll be moving back to it!
