It's the first time I'm organising a church Hall party for my son 2.30pm till 4.30pm. I have an entertainer from 3-4pm and will be doing a disco plus couple party games either side. 27 children are invited though expect maybe a couple won't attend. Parents will be staying too. I'm struggling to work out the food I need to do, the amounts of it and what to make/offer. Would love some advice and tips on what is most successful. Initially I thought sandwiches, crisps, humous veggie stick and fruits. Plus some snacky cake, biscuits type thing. What else could I do that would be nice for the adults? Where would I buy the serving tray/plates napkins etc from please? Slightly panicking! Its just my husband and I doing it with my two brothers helping alongside us on the day. I have a 2 year old who's a bit of a runner offer so that stresses me too! Any thoughts, ideas most appreciated x

Parents don’t usually expect food, especially at that time of day. They might descend on the buffet when kids finished but don’t feel you need to put anything special on.

I’d also say the kids will eat far far less than you might expect- they’re always too excited! You’ll get foil trays/napkins/paper plates at any decent sized supermarket. Your food ideas are good- enough variety that there should be something for everyone. Enjoy!

Cake. Let them eat cake.

Seriously when are they going to find time to eat? A bowl of crisps maybe otherwise just cut up the cake and put it out?
