BCG vaccine - was it given to my baby correctly?

My 7 wk old baby had her BCG vaccine a few days ago. Nurse said to look away once she gives the injection as some of the medication might splash but I saw most (if not all) of the medication wasted. The nurse said its ok as they only need very little amount. No wheel/bump formed on my baby's arm. It bled a bit, had a scar maybe a dot, and now its gone like nothing happened.

We may be travelling to Asia when she gets bigger so Im worried she wasnt given the vaccine correctly. Anyone who has the same experience? Should she get another one maybe privately? Is there a way to know in the future if she's had the vaccine like antibodies etc

If she has been vaccinated properly then a lump should appear on the vaccination site after 2-6 weeks.

I think it can take weeks for the lump to appear and I'm not sure if it has to appear. it's been about 3 weeks after my daughter's BCG and I can't see any lump yet.

If you do go privately make sure to explain the situation and ask the provider what would happen if your child got potentially a double dose of the vaccine.

I will wait it out then and see if a lump forms. Thanks to both!!

Both of mine had the BCG at a younger age than that (they were about 3 weeks, iirc).
Neither got a lump, neither got any form of reaction. I dont remember any form of warning about liquid splashing!
For school entry in a different country, DS1 had to prove he had immunity to TB via a Mantoux test (small amount of TB injected, and level of reaction gives info on active infection/immunity/no exposure). He had immunity. He doesnt have a TB scar.
You might be better getting an immunity test in a couple of years than repeating the vaccination.

^Glad to know your child has immunity even if she didnt develop any scarring... Thanks for your advise!
