ARGH! DS POTTY TOILET TRAINING! HELP

CharleeSawMummyKissingSanta · 13/12/2007 11:48

DS (3.3) was doing extremley well with his toilet training, we managed to get him 90% clean and dry, he was going all day fine at playschool and at home and moslty when out.

Now however this past few days he has been wetting and pooing himself and purpously not asking for the toilet.
He grins whilst saying 'mummy im doing a wee in my pants' he knows to ask for the toilet but doesn't. He seems to find going in his pnts funny.

We took him out and let him pick some special 'big boy' pants which he did and was very proud of them but the novelty has worn off and we seem to be taking 1 step forward and 2 steps back.

Any ideas?

What reaction are you giving him when he wets himself?

CharleeSawMummyKissingSanta · 13/12/2007 14:24

I'm not sure what reaction to give him, if im sure it was just an acident then i say 'oh dear never mind accisents happen' but im not sure what to say when it is clearly not an accident iyswim.

I just wondered if your reaction was his new novelty value iyswim. I'm just coming up to the training age with my youngest (dread) but my much older two (11 & 9) both went through a regression stage when toilet training. Looking back I probably got far to stressed about the whole thing & they probably just loved winding their poor old mum up

My DS1 2.10 has started making a huge fuss about not wanting a wee before he goes out and it has resulted in several accidents when out. He just stands there and says 'I did a wee!' - not sure if maybe we have always been prompting him too much so he has forgotton what a full bladder feels like.

Sticker charts always seem to be a winner. Maybe in the lead up to xmas you could incentivise him with an extra treat for staying clean & dry?

Goodluck
