Toddler leaky nappy

20 month old’s nappy leaks wee every night. He is in pampers nappy pants which are fine during the day and have been at night until about a month ago. He sleeps 6pm - 6.30/7am.
We have gone up a size, made sure he has loose fitting vests etc, tried pampers new night time pants, giving more food/snack and less milk before bed.
None of this has worked and he wakes up soaked every morning, including the bed sheets.
Any ideas that might be worth a try? 😁

That's annoying. I've heard that putting the nappy on back to front can work. This might depend on the brand. Also, if it's too big it'll probably leak.

Can you change his nappy whilst he's sleeping? We used to do this but our boys were pretty much unconscious as soon as they nodded off.

I have been having similar issues with my DS and we also have been using pampers nappies.

I think it’s because DS is so wriggly at night that the nappy becomes loose, so when he turns and sleeps on his side then that forms a gap at the top for a leak to happen.

We’ve started double nappying him and it’s worked quite well, a combo of a nighttime nappy pant and then his normal day to day nappies. I find the elastic waistband of the nappy pant doesn’t allow a gap to form so keeps everything in.

Also layering the cot with a waterproof mat, cot sheet, another waterproof mat and cot sheet on top helps when a leak happens in the middle of the night and you need to quickly change the sheet.

I don’t know if they’d fit yet but I find the Huggies night time pull ups are so much better. They’re labelled as age 2-4 but mine went into them at about 22 months and I found that they never leaked, probably because they’re designed to contain a full flood from a 4YO!

I wouldn't use pull ups for night time. Tab nappies are much better at night, most brands do the "+" ones too which are more absorbent in the same size. If that doesn't solve it you could try changing during the night if that will not wake them, ours would sleep through a quick change in the night.

My 2 years old was the same. So I change his nappy when hes asleep around 11 pm whenever i go to bed and that helped.

DD is younger so not directly comparable but we find Pampers not great fullstop - they tend to sag, create big gaps and wee leaks out (in the daytime, when the nappy isn't even full). Have you tried other brands? We use Sainsbury's and the fit seems much better.

You need active fit nappy pants- if you haven't already tried! That did the trick for us
