How to get 3.5 month old to sleep in his crib!?!?

Hi all,
so my 3.5 month old baby boy is exclusively breastfed. From day one he's always been very attached and I've only managed to get him to sleep in a moses basket once for 2 hours.
For the most part, he sleeps on me or in a sling or the pram in the day. At night, I've resorted to cosleeping, as it was literally the only way I could sleep, as he wouldn't be put down in his crib and I was finding myself falling asleep with him asleep on my whilst sat up.. So this seemed the safer option.
Up until now, I've been on board with the "4th trimester" theory and have gone with the flow. But now we're approaching 4 months and the constant demand of having a baby attached to me day and night (more of an issue in the day) is starting to be a problem... My back id killing me (he's a big boy to carry in a sling all day), I can literally get nothing done-unless I can do the activity with him in a sling and I feel like I've abandoned my 3 Yr old twins, as I'm always stuck under a sleeping baby and constantly telling them "to wait /in a bit/ mummy can't right now" etc.

This week I've tried putting him down for naps in the day, but it's just not happening. He will cry and cry for hours if I let him and all that's happening is he's getting overtired and stressed out.

Has anyone got any tips on how to get a very attached baby to sleep? I've tried white noise, red lights, putting him down awake, sleepy or fully asleep, using a comforter... You name it I've tried it... Except for crying it out.

I don't every remember it being this hard with my twins and they were very receptive to sleeping in a cot with minimal difficulties. However, this baby is the total opposite. He's much more sensitive and I don't feel us ready for sleep training any time soon!!

Thank you from a desperate mummy!!!

I followed Lucy Wolfe's method from 'The Baby Sleep Solution'. It took a couple of months but it did work for us.
