My 3 in January year old says mummy following by a question, asking me to look, making a statement every other second... is this normal? I'm losing my mind even though he's just saying mummy. I feel like I haven't got a minute interview he day to think. Am I doing something wrong that he needs my attention this much? Any tips or advice? I'm a SAHM and he doesn't go to nursery or childminder or grandparents

Yeah, it's normal. Unfortunately, it's not stopping any time soon. Sometimes my child doesn't even want anything, it's like she's just checking I'm still in here.

DS10 has only recently started just talking like an adult might do instead of starting every sentence/question with "mum?" and then waiting for a response before carrying on. It is/was quite annoying!

It is quite normal and if/when she becomes a non-verbal teenager you will miss it. When she goes to nursery or school she will have things to tell you about and the dynamic will change a bit. Make sure you listen to her.

My six year old still does this. It’s just important to them to know they have your attention. I don’t think my older children did this quite as much as she does but they are teenagers now so can’t remember to be honest.

It’s unfortunate it’s also the time when the questions can be so incessant.

Mine are still doing this at 9 and 7. Mummy? Mummy? Mummy? Mummy?
