Need some advice - 4year old started bedwetting

My DS was wearing a night time nappy up until about 2 months ago.
As he was dry in the night, we decided to put him in pants about 6 weeks ago now, this worked fantastically well for about 4 weeks, no accidents at all.
This has all changed now, though, for the last 2 weeks he has been wetting the bed. Not every night, but most nights.
We have tried getting him up for a wee before WE go to bed, tried cutting back on bed time milk, but I just don't know what to try next.
He's not distressed by it, and we're trying not to make a big issue of it.

Can you lovely mumsnetters please offer me the benefit of your advice and wisdom?

is he at school ? I ask because my twins are also 4 and are sleeping very heavily at the moment - and I think it is because they are exhausted by school - I am hoping it will all ease off a bit when term ends.

He's at nursery and he does seem more exhausted than usual, more tantrummy etc, so you're right, I just don't want him to get in the habit of it, esp he's not even slightly perturbed by it.

the problem is there is not much you can do - they are asleep and not waking up - I am hoping mine who mostly wake after the bed is wet will learn that it is not nice and somehow work out how to either not wee or wake up and do it in the loo.

does getting him up for a wee before you got to bed work ? I find mine are just so asleep they won't wake up and if they do then they aren't awake enough to wee on demand !

getting them up for a wee is a bit hit and miss, it was working but now he is too tired to pee, i think
