Just looking for some advice. Had a bad week - work, not feeling well, argued with my husband. Nothing major but just feeling down. My best friend was meant to stay this weekend but cancelled last minute. I’m home alone with my 18 month old and trying to find something to do with him tomorrow that will be fun. Can’t deal with soft play and we went to outside playground today. Any ideas?!? What do people do with toddlers in winter?! Thanks

You need a circle of local friends. Take it in turns to host and hang out at each others houses.

If you don't know anyone, start going to groups, join local FB groups etc and talk to anyone with similar age DC until you find someone you click with enough to invite them over. Then repeat so it's not all on one person. You can alternate who you invite over and then after a while invite both at once.

It makes the toddler stage much less lonely. Well worth doing. I know trickier than usual during covid times.

Garden centres they seem to have their Christmas stuff up.
Somewhere like pets at home and spend time looking at the animals
NT membership is good if there are places with gardens near you. You dont have to stay all day.
A trip to the beach if you are not too far away
The library
Swimming
Recommend a scooter from 2-2.5 onwards as you can walk further and they wont notice as much as they are scooting

Next month you can go out looking at Christmas decorations in windows and gardens.
Jumping in puddles during and after rain.

Garden centre or a local garden. It's hard when they are small; especially at weekends when friends are spending time with their families. My DH use to work a lot when the children were small. It gets easier.
