Cause of green poo

Hello,
My son is currently three months old.
When he was two weeks old he had diarrhoea and was constantly screaming in pain. The doctor said it was colic and to try infacol before feeds.
After no improvement and seeing green poo in his nappy we spoke to a different doctor who also said it was colic.
I wondered whether the milk might be the issue and so changed it to lactose free milk.
When he had his health visitor appointment she suggested trying cows milk allergy milk so we changed to nutramigen.
Now he is doing what can only be described as green poo explosions. They go up his back and I have to change his clothes several times a day.
A different doctor saw him last week and said we are feeding him too much. I then gave him smaller bottles and he was hungry.
I really don’t know what to do now. If anyone has had a similar experience or has any advice I’d really appreciate it. Thank you

Nutramigen still has cows milk protein although it is broken down into smaller pieces. Maybe you need a milk that doesn't contain cows milk protein at all

That’s interesting. Thank you for the suggestion. I will have a look at alternatives.

Green poo is normal. You get with comfort mills and lacto free milks- nothing to worry about. Look on google for the normal range of baby poo colours. I think the only colours you need to worry about are black, white and red.
Also I'm shocked that doctor told you that you were feeding baby too much! Just feed on demand like you have been doing. Poosplosions are normal too!

Sorry. Infacol helped our LO with green poo and gas. I also didn't realise how quick they grow out of nappy sizes til we got Asda ones with markings for size and she was in size 4 by 4 months, had explosions as she was growing out of each size, sorry if that's obvious but it saved us a lot of washing finding the size & brand that worked for her.

@heywassuphello that’s useful to know about the poo colour. I was surprised about the over feeding too. I will continue to feed him when he is hungry. Thank you for the advice.

@FTMbg It’s not obvious, don’t worry. This is all new to me so any advice is appreciated. Thanks

My babies poo was a dark green colour and it was explosive every time. He was diagnosed with cmpa and put on nutrimagen. Luckily the nutrimagen worked for him but your baby could have a more severe allergy. I would ask the gp to prescribe a completely dairy free milk as nutrimagen is still made with cows milk. I realise baby poo can vary in colour (this is my 3rd baby) but the dark green of my babies poo was definitely not right.

Thanks for this @notsureconfused I’ve got an appointment with the health visitor about it so I’ll mention the dairy free milk. That’s good to know.
