Teething and bad poos! NHS says no but I think yes!

I was looking up teething symptoms in babies and saw this on the NHS website...

'Some people think that teething causes other symptoms, such as diarrhoea, but there's no evidence to support this.'

I'm convinced that my daughter's extra loose poos are a result of teething. It's all coinsided with her dribbling, fist in the mouth constantly, red cheeks, etc.

What are other people's experiences of this?

Absolutely. The only time either dd has had nappy rash is when they were / are teething.

Although I agree with pp who say 'no evidence = not listening to women', I also wonder of it's due to lack of research. There won't be many parents willing to let their babies take part in medical research. We were asked when dd1 was a baby and we declined. DP is a doctor and still agreed with me that we wouldn't be happy with our pfb taking part.

Sounds like in this case, mums/dads know best I reckon.

We’re all clearly neurotic and imagining things. Pure coincidence that all three of mine happened to be teething at the same time as a mystery bug that gave them acid shites.

In other people's experiences, can the teething poos be more frequent too?
My 4 month old dd is pooing about 3 times a day at the mo. Usually she's every other day. Bottle fed.

yes

and looser too
they might dribble a lot and so are likely to swallow more saliva as well - the higher acidity levels affecting the entire digestive system (from mouth to butt) can definitely alter frequency!
